Welcome to the Website of
Synod of The Bethel Anglican Episcopal Church of India

OUR COMMUNITY

We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who is eternal, loving, and sovereign.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation of our faith and practice.
We believe in salvation through Jesus Christ, who died and rose again to offer grace and eternal life.

Our Community:

We have watched with despair as Churches abandon Biblical morality and surrender slavishly to political correctness. We have seen the downgrading of the place of the Sacraments within worship and worst of all, the steady undermining of the very belief in Christianity as a revealed Faith. We are bombarded every day with news of spiritual and moral decline in our society. It has become fashionable to say that Christians cannot know anything for certain about God. Faith has become the subject of debate, instead of something that is simply accepted as being true.

Synod of The Bethel Anglican Episcopal Church of India is, in a real sense, a ‘Continuing Church’, not a new Church. In particular, we hold to the Holy Bible as God’s inspired Word and to the Book of Common Prayer, the Ordinal and the 39 Articles of Religion, as containing reliable summaries of our Faith. We hold to the two Sacraments of the Gospel: Holy Baptism, which brings us ‘into Christ’ and is completed in Confirmation, and the Holy Communion, which unites us to the Sacrifice of Christ Jesus and through which He feeds us with His Body and Blood.

In obedience to the command of Jesus Christ, we are committed to mission and evangelism in the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that nations are now more than ever in need of a strong recall to the Apostolic Faith, the Faith which turned the ancient world upside down, the Faith which our Christian forefathers handed down to successive generations, the Faith which always carries a fresh relevance in every age and in every place.

Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals

Baptism

Baptism (or “Christening”) is available to all who desire it, either for you or for your family. Baptism marks a new beginning. It is the time when we celebrate a person’s acceptance of the Christian faith, and their desire to grow in faith throughout their lives. Baptism is also a celebration of a new life in our midst as a gift from God, and the whole church wishes to join with you in this celebration. Baptism teaches us to live as new creation and follow Jesus Christ. Romans 6:1-6; Colossians 2:10-12

Wedding

A wedding can take place anywhere it is possible for witnesses to be present, in Church, Local Community Halls and Private Chapels. Weddings are a time for good wishes, feasting and joy! They are also a time for serious commitment as a man and woman pledge a lifelong covenant with each other. Our Ordained Marriage License Holder under BAECI will be happy solemnizing marriages according to Indian Christian Marriage Act. Marriage is honourable to all. Hebrews 13:4; This is a great mystery: between the Jesus Christ and the Church. Ephesians 5:32.

That He (Jesus Christ) might present it to himself a glorious church (Bridegroom), not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:27.

Funerals

Why Christian funeral is important? An untimely birth is better than he who has no burial. Ecclesiastes 6:3. The Christian funeral service includes the belief that there is hope in death as there is in life. The Shepherd (priest of Church) watches for your souls, as he must give account before the Great Shepherd (Jesus Christ) in the second coming. Hebrews 13:17, 20; There is a judgment according to the shepherd divided the sheep from goats. Matthew 25:32-33, 41-46Romans 13:4-5;

Resurrection and Rapture are the hope of Christian faith. Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18
